Tooronga Village is delighted to welcome a new Street Library to the shopping centre, created as a shared space for readers of all ages to enjoy.
From a recycled cupboard to a community treasure, the Street Library is ready to open its doors on Tuesday 5 May 2026.
Join us for the official launch at 10am, celebrating this special initiative alongside City of Boroondara Councillor Victor Franco, representatives from the Tooronga Social Group Committee, and the Hawthorn Men’s Shed, the talented makers behind the library.
Built by local hands and brought to life through community collaboration, the Street Library is a simple and inviting space where neighbours and visitors can take a book, leave a book, and enjoy discovering new stories. Carefully crafted with creativity and care, it reflects the skill, generosity, and warmth of everyone involved, adding a bright and welcoming touch to the village.
Now permanently installed at Tooronga Village Shopping Centre, the library invites everyone who passes by to pause, browse, and connect through reading. A small but meaningful addition, it reflects the idea that great communities are built together, one story at a time.
