As the impact of COVID-19 reaches further into our communities we wanted to assure you that the health and wellbeing of our customers and the Tooronga Village community is the overriding priority.

We are monitoring the official advice from relevant health authorities including the Australian Government Department of Health and other National and State agencies and our actions will reflect guidance we have received.

We have implemented a range of precautionary measures to help mitigate the spread of the virus at Tooronga Village including a heightened focus on sanitising hard surfaces throughout the Centre such as bathrooms and lift lobbies, the installation of additional hand sanitisers in the bathrooms and increased communication to customers regarding hygiene standards.

We continue to monitor the changing circumstances and are working to ensure Tooronga Village, as the heart of your community, provides a safe environment to service your shopping needs.

Our policy and procedures relating to COVID-19 also includes contingency plans should we be required to manage the presence of the virus in our Centre. We are governed by the advice of health authorities and are well prepared for this scenario.

Update – Thursday 28 October 2021

As per the Victorian Government’s roadmap, all retail stores will be reopening from 6pm Friday 29th October.

All retail stores are open

Retail Food Services including restaurants, and cafes will be open for indoor seated service and outdoor non-seated service, with capacity limits, to fully vaccinated people.
Our hairdressing, beauty, personal care retailers will be open for fully vaccinated people.

For your safety and the safety of others, please ensure you follow the guidelines consistent with VIC government directive.

Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly
Social distance when moving through the centre and queuing areas
Check in using the available QR codes

Update – Thursday 21 October 2021

Further to the recent announcement by the Victorian Government, we are excited at the re-opening of hairdressers, barbers, nail salons and massage services this Friday 22 October! In accordance with Victorian Government restrictions, there will be capacity limits and customers are required to be fully vaccinated to visit these stores.

Retailers open include:

Hair: Just Cuts
Nails: Odyssey Nails
Beauty: Beauty Lightning Brow Bar, Indulgence Medi Spa
Massage: Tai Chi Master Massage

Cafes and Restaurants will continue to provide take away options and where applicable will offer seating with capacity limits for fully vaccinated patrons.We recommend you check with each retailer to make an appointment and ask for your patience as these retailers navigate through the regulations that have been put in place.

Update – Monday 4 October 2021

Tooronga Village has been notified of a positive case of COVID-19 of a staff member at Nando’s. This staff member did not come into direct contact with any customers.

Dates and times are:
Wednesday 29th September – 4pm until 9.30pm
Thursday 30th September – 11am until 4pm

We advise that Nando’s is currently closed.  All staff have been tested and have all received negative results and anyone in direct contact with the positive staff member is currently in isolation. The Victorian Government has listed Coles at Tooronga Village as a Tier 2 exposure site and advise anyone who visited this location on the date and time indicated to follow the government guidelines which can be found here.

As per the announcement from Victorian Government and the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) there will be 5 day lockdown effective 11.59pm tonight, Thursday 15 July 2021.Brandon Park will remain open for all your essential products and services during this 5 day lockdown.

Update – Thursday 10 June 2021

As per the Government announcement, the current lockdown for Metro Melbourne will end, although several restrictions will remain in place.

From 11.59pm Thursday 10 June, the five reasons to leave home will no longer apply to Metro Melbourne with retail stores to open with safety measures in place.

It is a requirement that all customers check in via the QR code displayed at centre entrances and at all stores they visit.  Thank you for doing your part to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

Update – Wednesday 2 June 2021

One further location at Tooronga Village has been identified as a Tier 2 exposure site.

Scicluna’s has undergone a deep clean with impacted staff isolating until negative results are received.  They are open for trade. Anyone who visited this location on the dates and times indicated should get tested immediately and isolate until confirmation of a negative result.  Continue to monitor for symptoms and get tested again if symptoms appear.

Update – Tuesday 1 June 2021

Tooronga Village has been notified of a positive case of COVID-19 who visited the centre on 23 May.

The Victorian Government has listed two sites as Tier 2 exposure sites and advise anyone who visited the following locations on the dates and times indicated get tested immediately and isolate until they return a negative result

Coles has undergone a deep clean of the store and have been cleared to trade.  DHHS advised Bakers Delight no deep clean was required.  4 staff have been tested and have all received negative results. We advise that following this, Tooronga Village has undergone a deep clean of all touch points and will continue with additional cleaning, focusing on specific areas that are more prone to customer contact. Update – Wednesday 17 February 2021

As per the Victorian Government’s announcement, from 11.59pm Wednesday 17 February all retail is permitted to re-open.

Update – Friday 12 February 2021

As per the Victorian Government’s announcement at 1pm on Friday 12 February 2021, Victoria will be entering a five-day lockdown from midnight 12/02/21 until midnight 17/02/21.

As part of the lockdown restrictions, only essential retail will be allowed to trade during this time; with one person allowed per four square metres.Food and beverage retailers can trade on a takeaway basis only and face coverings must continue to be worn by all retail staff and customers.Please contact the retailer you wish to visit ahead of time if you are unsure whether they are considered essential. Update – Friday 24 July

Tooronga Village Centre Management was notified on Friday 24 July that a Coles Team member has a confirmed case of COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating. Our best wishes are with that Coles employee and their family. Coles have informed Centre Management the team member has not been into the store since July 13. Furthermore, a small number of team members who worked in close contact are required to self-isolate and Coles will continue to work with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services to finalise contact tracing.

Coles have also informed Centre Management that it has followed all health authority requirements arising from this positive test, which included an additional deep clean of the store following the confirmation. Centre Management can confirm the current cleaning regimen in place fully complies with Australian Government regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and staff. The Centre is open as usual to service the ongoing needs of our community. For further inquiries please contact Coles directly.

Update – as of midnight Tuesday 27 October 2020

Metropolitan Melbourne is now in Third Step restrictions. Under these restrictions, all retail services are allowed to re-open, operating in strict adherence to their COVIDSafe plans and density requirements. Please call ahead of visiting retailers where a service is being performed as they may require a prior booking.
